The Brief

The new Tottenham Stadium requires no introduction. Winning awards and fans’ admiration from all subsections of the footballing community, the stadium is a stunning example of modern architecture. From the ground up, the stadium has been designed and executed to perfection – and this includes its state of the art lighting system.

Stadium FX was honoured to be involved with Musco Sports Lighting in a number of elements involved with such a prestigious project. Our team played a leading role during the initial build stage of the lighting project and were instrumental when consulting with both the necessary sports lighting manufacturers and key representatives at the club as to how the control system would work.

The Solution

It became clear very early on that our in-house bespoke control solution, Apollo, would be the perfect solution for the ambitious aims of those at Tottenham Hotspurs. The Apollo Control System is a networked system triggering and reporting on multiple controllers, output nodes and other AV and BMS systems, and as such offers one of the most cutting-edge and powerful lighting control tools on the market.

As in most of our installs, the system is totally integrated with and resides on, the state of the art stadium IT network used throughout the Tottenham Stadium. This ensured the install went hand in hand with the rest of the developments taking place at the stadium, using its already impressive technical capabilities to truly make the most out of Apollo.

The Results

The results speak for themselves. Already, the stadium is being heralded as having achieved a new benchmark within the world of football stadium construction. Capable of staging major sporting and non-sporting events, our lighting system can be used just as effectively during a football match as it can be during a live concert.

At the start of the process, representatives from the club and the stadium had a number of understandable stipulations regarding redundancy, diversity and interoperability. But, thanks to our transparent approach and tried and tested process, we were able to show them that we could build something that was not only brilliant to look at, but also extremely safe – from both an operational and a financial perspective.
